I’ve discovered my love for video games when I was six years old. Without preferences I played RTS-games, shooters, browser games, MMOs or simulators. I made my first steps as a developer with homebrew games for my Playstation Portable. With big plans in my mind I’ve written and developed game concepts which I wanted to produce. But as an inexperienced but ambitious teenager who I was, I’ve had to learn autodidactic with many failed projects how to develop a game.
None the less, I knew that my dedication to game design could not be restrained. For me it was clear since I was 14, that I will study game design on the first possibility, which was right after my general qualification for university entrance.
Since then I’ve studied Game Design at the Macromedia University of applied Sciences at Stuttgart. While working on paid student projects under the direction of our professor Markus Wiemker, I was still working on my own projects or helping voluntary in others.
I made my fist steps into the industry with the small but expert Gaming Minds Studios and the creative director Daniel Dumont. Learning from his expert knowledge I finally could gather practical experience. From this time I didn’t only got some record but I got thought, how to think as a game designer.
Afterwards I finished my studies with my Bachelor Thesis on time manipulation in multiplayer games, which resulted in a playable splitscreen proof of concept – “Pilum”.
With this experience, I got accepted for the position as a Junior Level Designer at
Realm Forge Studios in Munich. Here it is possible for me, to conduct a project from the beginning till shipment. With the organisation of the studio, I still have enough time for my own projects.
Games are experiences and stories delivered by the developer to the player. I believe the Game Designer has to have gathered unique experiences himself in order to deliver unique gaming experiences. I’m a dedicative airsoft team leader. In military simulations with two thousand players, I organize and lead successfully up to thirty comrades. I also try to travel each year to a different country to gather new impressions of the scenery and to gather the stories of the people.
I prefer to work on games which want the user to think or want him to loose himself in a digital world. Furthermore I want to influence the standing, identity and acts of the players in the real life.
I am always on the lookout for new possibilities and challenges. So please don’t hesitate to contact me, visit my online-profiles or download my CV for further information.
